Shortly after we launched POST O’ALLS in 1993, we started doing collaborations with other designers / stores.
I still remember the first one…..Labrador Retriever – a popular American clothes store in Tokyo in the 90s. Then followed by Hectic, Bathing APE, and this – SPANISHCURVES. I guess this label started in sometime mid 90s.
This was a collaboration with Mr. Kurata from ELT / Let It Ride, yet it was an irregular deal, meaning we did whenever we felt like it.
I was in charge of giving a name for this new brand, and I still remember when I came up with the name. It was like now – early summer kind of day and I was walking around with my buddy on Madison Avenue in 40s. After checking out Brooks Bros., Paul Stuart, and we kept walking…..then I realized that I was looking at perfect “curves” of some hispanic woman walking in front of us.
Hence the name….(Takeshi)
