It is getting more fall everyday…..but I still don’t want to part with my shorts yet….
So, I’m checking how our NEW stuff goes…..with shorts!
Here are my personal most worn shorts this season..(L to R ) khaki beefy cords MENPOLINI Short, stone supreme twill MENPOLINI short,
and navy 60/40 Cruzer short 2.
E-Z Cruz 5 shirt….in navy brushed cotton twill.
I always like L/S shirt w/ shorts….but didn’t feel much this summer.
Yet finally I start feeling like L/S….when it gets colder, I usually go for wool shirt…with shorts if possible.
OK 42 in navy cotton twill.
I like its new snug and shorter fit…a new balance with shorts!
Royal Traveler Shirt in P/C hi-count poplin quilt w/Thinsulate.
Shorter length works better for current mood, I guess.
Post 41 DV in same fabric as above.
Maybe I like this style better with pants this year…
Royal Traveler in navy shirting HBT.
Here’s a rare bird…
There are many U.S. military issued chambray shirts… for U .S.NAVY .
But this one is made for U.S.V.A. (United States Veterans Administration).
Single plain patch pocket without a flap for a coat-style shirt (not pullover)….which is extra rare in vintage chambray work shirt world…as you may know….and looks beautifully simple and cool.
This is the second shirt I own (and have seen in person)….the below is another one I had (gave it to my friend Nishi from CORONA). These photos were taken in my room….around 1985?
I had this my first USVA shirt when I was living in Japan….note USVA stencil around right hem, which would disappear after a couple of washings.
This shirt is my main inspiration for “The POST” shirt (our first single pocket coat-style shirt from late 90s) and other many single pocket work shirts to follow ( C-POST series, etc.).
Here are some stuff I bought in Japan…
Vintage bottle openers for restaurants and bars…
Vintage traditional “Japanese INN” set for table…
Vintage Japanese Mentholatum sibling (or copy, for exact).
Its back design….explaining what this ointment is good for…
I bought 2 MONTBELL sandals on the day I arrived in Tokyo…
I wanted to get them!
I didn’t have much free time this time and appetite for shopping because of the weather…but I managed to crawl up to see my friends @ SUNTRAP…and scored this shirt.
This early 60s shirt reminds me some days I was living in Japan…I custom ordered a shirt in similar fabric at a G.I. tailor near Yokota Air Base in Fussa, Tokyo.
This one is made of permanent pressed cotton (!) , and is probably made in Japan (not stated ).
The one I ordered was silk….I barely remember that I bought some nice silk fabric from India….at a store nearby the tailor called Taji Mahal or something….and I specified small Italian collar for that short sleeve shirt.
